Mr. Manson was previously a member of 1st Worldwide as a contracts products representative. FINRA found that while Mr. Manson was a member of 1st Worldwide, he established a hedge fund: Sterling Advisor Fund LP (Sterling), a Florida limited partnership. The purpose of Sterling was to pool investors’ funds to then be invested and traded in a variety of securities. As managing member of Sterling, Mr. Manson had eight investors, two of whom were clients of 1st Worldwide and received management fees for managing sterling investments. FINRA found that Mr. Manson rose over $1 million from the sale of limited partnership units outside his authority. 1st Worldwide did not give written approval for Manson’s sale of Sterling limited partnership units.
